Summary of Purpose

What are we all about?
What are we trying to accomplish in and through our church?
What is the mission of our church?

We think that defining our purpose and mission is very important so that we can explain to others what we are about and keep our church unified and focused on what God has called us to be and do. We seek to get our purpose and mission only from the truth of Scripture. Everything we are and seek to do is under our Purpose and Mission.

In order to properly understand our mission, we must first understand our purpose. The target or goal must be in sight for us to know if we ar ehitting what we are aiming at. The following are four different ways of summarizing what The Church of St. Charles is all about:

Our Purpose is to glorify God by having and sharing our intimacy with the Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ in all things, to all peoples.

Our Mission is to teach the whole counsel of God’s Word, especially the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to live and minister by being Radically Biblical in all we do.

Our Power is the Spirit’s power through His Word in and through us as we are Radically Dependent on Him.

Our Motivation is because we joyfully love God and others because we are compelled by Christ’s love for us.
