The Continuing Story
The book of Genesis, which means “beginnings,” is the first book of the Bible and tells the beginning of the story. At the end of that book we see God saving his people from famine by leading them into Egypt. The book of Exodus picks up right where Genesis left off, with God’s chosen people living and growing under the oppression of the Egyptians. The word Exodus means “exit” or “departure.” As we study the book of Exodus we will learn about a God who is faithful to keep his covenant with the nation of Israel as he brings them out of Egypt and leads them to the promised land.
